Columbus Concrete, columbusneconcrete.com, office@columbusneconcrete.com

Accepting these terms

These terms cover your use of the Columbus Concrete website and any work you hire us to do. By using this site, asking for an estimate or approving a job, you agree to them.

If a signed estimate or contract for your job says something different from this page, the signed document wins for that job. If you don't agree with these terms, please don't use the site, and call us before you book any work.

What we do

Columbus Concrete is a concrete contractor based in Columbus, NE. We build driveways, patios, sidewalks, steps, garage floors, slabs, footings, foundations and retaining walls, and we handle stamped and decorative concrete, cutting and foundation raising. You'll find the full list on our home page.

The service descriptions on this site are general. They explain how the work usually goes, but they aren't a promise about your property. What we'll do on your job is whatever your written estimate describes.

Estimates and pricing

We give free estimates at your property, and there's no obligation to hire us. An estimate is based on what we can see and measure that day, including the size of the job, the ground the slab will sit on, how water drains, access for the truck and the finish you pick.

Some things only show up once the old concrete is out or the ground is dug, such as soft soil, buried debris, roots or old footings. If we find something that changes the work or the cost, we'll stop, show you and get your approval before we go on. We won't add charges you haven't agreed to.

An estimate is good for the period written on it. After that, material prices can change, so we may need to update it.

Scheduling, weather and cancellation

We'll give you a start date when you approve the job, but concrete depends on the weather. Rain, freezing temperatures or extreme heat can make a pour weak, so we'll move the date rather than pour in conditions that hurt the slab. We'll call you as soon as we know.

New concrete needs time to cure, which is the wait while it hardens and gains strength before it can carry weight. We'll tell you when it's safe to walk on and drive on, and you agree to keep people, pets and vehicles off it until then. Damage from early use isn't covered.

If you need to cancel or reschedule, call us as early as you can at (531) 400-9011. If we've already ordered material, set forms or dug out the area, you may owe for that work and material, as your estimate explains.

Payment

Your estimate states the price, any deposit and when payments are due. Unless it says otherwise, the balance is due when the work is done.

If a payment is late, we may pause work until it's caught up. You're responsible for reasonable costs we have to pay to collect an unpaid balance, as far as Nebraska law allows.

Your property and site access

You agree to give our crew safe access to the work area and to tell us about anything buried that we should know about, such as sprinkler lines, septic parts, wiring or pipes that aren't marked by the utility locate. We aren't responsible for damage to private lines that weren't pointed out to us.

Concrete trucks are heavy. We'll pick the route with you, but some marks on lawns or soft ground along the way are normal, and we'll talk through them before the pour.

Concrete's limits and our warranty

We're licensed and fully insured, and we stand behind our workmanship. If something about the work isn't right, call us and we'll come look at it.

Concrete can crack, even when it's done right. We cut control joints, which are planned grooves that give the slab a place to crack in a straight line, and we prepare the base the slab sits on. That lowers the risk, but it can't remove it. Hairline cracks, small color differences and slight changes in texture are normal and aren't defects.

We don't cover damage from things outside our control, including ground movement, frost heave, flooding, tree roots, poor drainage from other parts of the property, deicing salts, heavy equipment, early use before curing is done or changes made by others. Except for anything written in your estimate or contract, the work and this website are provided without other warranties, as far as the law allows.

Limitation of liability

As far as Nebraska law allows, Columbus Concrete isn't liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost use of a driveway, lost income or inconvenience. For any claim about a job, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for that job.

The information on this website is general and isn't professional engineering advice. Please don't rely on it for your project without talking to us first.

If we disagree

Most problems get fixed with a phone call, so call us first and give us a fair chance to look at the issue and make it right. If we can't settle it that way, we both agree to try mediation in good faith before going to court.

If a dispute still isn't settled, it will be heard in the state or federal courts serving Platte County, Nebraska.

Governing law

These terms and any work we do are governed by the laws of the State of Nebraska, without regard to rules that would apply another state's law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time, and the version on this page is the current one. Changes don't affect a job you've already signed for, which stays under the terms in place when you approved it.
